Cost comparison.

According to the Oregon State Bar 2017 Economic Study the average hourly rate in Oregon for lawyers with 30+ years of experience was $332 in 2016.  Unfortunately, we don't have more up to date data on lawyers' hourly rates.

How can we charge such a low hourly rate?

Agape Law Oregon (ALO) is a virtual law office.  We intentionally keep our overhead very low so we don't have to charge higher rates.  It is also a community service law office so our motivation is not to turn a profit but to help people solve their legal problems.

HOUSING AND EVICTION

Housing is a fundamental need that we all share.  Agape Law Oregon, (ALO) can assist you on many different issues related to housing; whether it's trying to avoid eviction, getting a landlord to make repairs, getting into public housing, or other legal issues related to housing.

DIVORCE AND CUSTODY DISPUTES

Navigating divorce and custody matters is one of the most  emotionally challenging issues we face in life. We can provide you with compassionate guidance to protect the best interests of your family.  We can help you draft documents, analyze legal documents, negotiate on your behalf, prepare for hearings, and help you navigate through family court.

GUARDIANSHIPS

Establishing a guardianship of a minor or adult in need of care is complicated.  You will need to know what you have to prove and how to prove it.  We can help you through this process to increase your chance of success.

The guardianship process can also be used for children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected by a parent in a foreign country as a prerequisite for Special Immigrant Juvenile status.

SIMPLE ESTATE PLANNING

We can help you secure your family's future with estate planning services. We can do simple wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives to give you peace of mind.  We can also help you with a small estate affidavit for those with less than $150,000 in real property and $50,000 in personal property assets.

EXPUNGEMENTS

If you have criminal convictions, you know that they create a barrier to a better life; better housing, better employment, etc.  We will let you know if you qualify for an expungement and help you navigate the process to have prior convictions expunged.

COLLECTIONS BANKRUPTCY

We can help you through the process of being sued or garnished because of a debt.  We can also guide you on the path of bankruptcy to extinguish debt if that is appropriate.  We do not file bankruptcy petitions but can find you an attorney who can file for you.  Knowing your legal rights and protections is important and will help you to plan for a debt free future.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATION

If you have a small business or non-profit and want set up a legal structure, we can help you to incorporate or set up a limited liability company so that you comply with Oregon laws.

TEENS

Being a teen isn't always easy.  We provide free legal advice to teens who want to know what their legal rights are as a minor to enter into contracts, rent an apartment, hold a job, become emancipated, etc.

WHY CHOOSE AGAPE LAW OREGON?

At Agape Law Oregon, we are committed to guiding individuals and families through legal challenges with empathy and expertise. We believe in providing honest answers to legal questions even if it is not the answer the client would have hoped to hear.  We also believe that the "scorched earth" tactic of trying to ruin the opposing party typcially does not work well in court and leads to clients feeling even more embittered.  Our focus is on preserving relationships and fostering positive outcomes, even in difficult circumstances.

Agape Law Oregon will be a good fit for you if:

  • You want to know your legal rights.

  • You want help drafting a legal document or demand letter.

  • You need general help navigating the legal process with confidence.

  • You want help negotiating with someone.

  • You want help with other discreet legal tasks.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

"Thank you so much. You didn't know

that while you were doing your job,

you were saving me, along with

my daughters. I really appreciate all

you have done for us.  This was a very

difficult time that I went through.

Having gone through domestic violence and getting away alive, I thank you. You

were the one who believed in me.  Without having any money or place to

obtain it, you helped me out. Thank

you so much. May god bless you for all

the help you provided me with."

Family law client

"My friend,

I would like to express my love and gratitude to you about the amazing work that you have done for me. I really appreciate it. You have shown your love to me and to my family. I truly believe that God used you to bless my life. Now we are friends  and brothers.

Thank you very much."

Blema Fangamou.: Family law client

"I am a former client of Arron and highly recommend him.

After many years of living in my home, my landlord tried to evict me, under the pretext of making repairs.  After months of preparation and many trips to my home to speak with me and other witnesses, Arron took my case to trial and beat the eviction and saved me from being homeless.

He is very knowledgeable and very thorough. He knows the laws and rules. I was blessed to have Arron as my attorney and I will call him again if I need an attorney."

Eva Cronin: Housing law client

"I am pleased to know that Arron is going to open a philanthropic law office.  I truly believe that he will bring a blessing to so many people who are in need.

Due to a cruel husband and bad marriage my sister was forced to get a divorce. I found Arron.  Bless his heart.  Even though he couldn't represent her in a different county he kindly volunteered to give her legal advice to fill out the legal paperwork.  After the divorce was final he also introduced my sister to another attorney who was able to help her apply for her green card under the VAWA program, for victims of domestic violence.

My sister obtained her citizenship and has become an independent person living a happy life in a great country that began with Arron's kind and generous help!  My sister and my family are very thankful to Arron that we have kept in touch.  I also feel that it is going to be a great blessing again to those who need legal advice because of Arron's good heart, his integrity, professionalism, courage, and commitment.  It will be a great asset to the community and to our country. God bless America.  God bless you Arron."

C.A.: Family law

"I used to own a camping trailer that I lived in full time.  It was parked at an RV park.  I also had a dog that helped me through life's difficult times.  After a short absence from the park, I returned to find my trailer and my dog gone, without explanation by the park owner as to what happened.

Arron agreed to take my case and sued the park owner.   He investigated and found out that the park owner had my trailer towed, with my dog inside, outside of town where the dog was killed and the trailer destroyed.  I was left without a home, without money, and without my companion.

Not only was Arron able to get me an up-graded replacement trailer, he also got me a financial settlement which really helped me to take that next step towards improving my life.  Since then, I was able to get a stable job, that I've now had for years, and get married.

Arron treated me like a person, not just a number to line his pocket.  He helps the under-dog.  If I need legal assistance in the future, I will ask Arron for help.

Thank you Arron for what you did for me."

Gary Jones: Housing law client

"Thank you for all you have done! I am very grateful!
[The expungement] will have a big impact on my job
search and housing.
I am thankful I get something. I’m happy."

Expungement client

----------------------------------

" I am a legal immigrant who was married and had children with an American. I was a house wife at the time, and before we divorced I discovered that my husband was an alcoholic and a drug addict.

His addiction led to me to seek help at the local women’s shelter and eventually led to us divorcing, but he was a dangerous and unstable person, so this separation led to me and my child feeling very endangered.  Mr. Guevara helped me file for a restraining order and divorce.

His professionalism and kindness was monumental in helping me start a new life with my children.

Thanks to him, we are living happily ever after!

I’d like people to know that there is help out there even if you are low-income and feeling helpless to take legal action."
